Mission
Celebrate cultural diversity, elevate local culinary talent, and create experiences that strengthen community relationships in Salt Lake City.
Why this event
Those stories usually live in restaurants, houses of worship, cultural associations, and private tables. Breaking Bread gathers them so residents can taste, listen, and meet neighbors across tradition.
The public-benefit core is cultural celebration, education, inclusion, and community connection. Commerce — tasting packages, vendor fees, sponsorship, merchandise — sits beside that core and is accounted separately.
Public outcomes
City alignment
Cultural performances, exhibits, and educational activities do not require a ticket.
Booth stories and demos center the people who cook and perform — not stereotypes.
Printed Taste Passports, assistance tent, accessible routes, and language support.
Breaking Bread is produced by Observable Universe Inc. as a public cultural festival for Salt Lake City — not a private brand gala. ACE grant dollars, if awarded, fund local artists, education, family activities, accessibility, and outreach only.
Producer
A West Valley City company that builds digital operating systems for live experiences: registration, ticketing, vendor and sponsor management, accessible maps, educational challenges, communications, and reporting.
Our role is producer and technology partner so community programming — not software development — stays the focus of public cultural funding.
