Culture Row
Vendors by tradition with story cards — African, Caribbean, Greek, Italian, Latin American, Asian, Middle Eastern, South Asian, American Fusion, and more.

Salt Lake City · Inaugural Festival 2027
A free-admission food and culture festival where every dish has a story, every culture has a place, and everyone is welcome at the table.
The idea
Salt Lake City already cooks, gathers, and performs across many traditions. Breaking Bread puts those stories on one public site for one day — so residents can taste, listen, and meet neighbors they would not otherwise encounter.
Produced by Observable Universe Inc. as a public cultural festival. Optional tasting and VIP packages help fund operations; they are never required for performances, exhibits, or educational activities.

What you will find
From Culture Row to Family Discovery, the day is built for families, food lovers, cultural communities, and neighbors.

Zone A
Vendors by tradition with story cards — African, Caribbean, Greek, Italian, Latin American, Asian, Middle Eastern, South Asian, American Fusion, and more.

Zone B
Live cooking demos, cultural storytelling through food, and dish presentations from local chefs and presenters.

Zone C
Music, dance, DJ sets, spoken word, and cultural performance — local talent first.
Taste Passport
QR or staff-verified check-ins at booths, demos, performances, and family activities. Printed passports for guests without smartphones.
Visit traditions, read chef stories, attend a demo, join Family Discovery, and take part in the noon Breaking Bread Moment — free for every guest.
How the passport worksSave the date
Public hours 11:00 AM–8:00 PM in Salt Lake City. Exact venue address will be published once written site approval is locked.
Preferred site under review: Sugar House Park (prepaid tasting model). Alternate SLC sites remain under consideration so the festival stays inside city limits for community programming.
